What is a civil writ petition?
In the Indian legal system a Writ Petition is filed in the High Courts and the Supreme Court under Article 226 and Article 32 of the Indian Constitution.
A Writ Petition filed in a civil dispute, with regard to, for instance, property, is also called a Writ Petition (Civil) or a Civil Writ Petition in the cause title. The prerogative writs issued by Courts in India are habeas corpus, certiorari, mandamus, prohibition and Quo Warranto.
